Using this site and agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the Brickworks Clovis Concrete and Masonry website and any estimate or job you book with us through it, by phone or in person. By using the site or asking us for work, you agree to them, so please read them before you hire us.

If a signed written contract for your job says something different from this page, the signed contract controls for that job. You can start from our home page or read more about us if you want to know who you'd be working with first.

What we do

We're a masonry contractor in Clovis, CA, doing brick, block, stone, paver and concrete work for homeowners in Clovis and the cities around it. The service descriptions on this site are general, because every wall, chimney and slab is different, and the actual scope of your job is set in your written estimate or contract.

We're licensed and insured. We can turn down work that we don't think we can do well or safely, and we'll tell you why when we do.

Estimates and pricing

Quotes are free and done on site, and asking for one puts you under no obligation. Any price you see before we've looked at the job, on the phone or on this site, is a rough guide and not an offer.

A written estimate covers the work it describes, at the price it lists, for the time it says it stays good. Masonry often hides things until it's open, like a cracked footing behind a wall, failed mortar deeper than it looked or bad soil under a slab. If we find something like that, we stop, show you, and get your written okay on a change order before we do extra work or charge for it.

Scheduling and cancellation

We set your start date with you once the estimate is accepted, and we'll tell you as soon as we know if it has to move. Weather, curing time, material delivery and permit or inspection timing can all push a schedule, and we don't count those delays as a breach of our agreement.

If you need to reschedule or cancel, call us as early as you can. If you cancel after we've ordered special materials or started work, you'll owe for the materials we can't return and the work already done. Any right to cancel that California law gives you is not affected by these terms.

Payment

Your estimate or contract lists any deposit, progress payments and the final balance, with when each one is due, and we'll only ask for a deposit in an amount California law allows. The final payment is due when the work in your contract is finished, unless your contract says otherwise.

If a payment is late, we can pause work until it's paid, and we keep any rights to collect that California law gives contractors. If you think a bill is wrong, tell us right away so we can sort it out before it turns into a dispute.

Our guarantee and what it doesn't cover

We stand behind our work, and if you're not satisfied with something we did, call us and we'll come back and look at it. Any written warranty for your job is the one in your contract, and it covers what that contract says for the time it says.

Outside of that written warranty and what the law requires, we don't make other promises, express or implied, about the work or this website. Brick, stone and concrete naturally weather, shift slightly and change color over time, and hairline cracks in concrete are common, so those aren't defects on their own. Our guarantee doesn't cover damage from settling or soil movement we didn't build on, water from drainage we weren't hired to fix, misuse, other contractors' work, or storms, earthquakes and similar events.

Limits on our liability

To the extent California law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to what you paid us for that job. We're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of your property, lost rent or lost income.

This website is for general information, and we don't promise it's always current, complete or free of errors. Nothing in this section limits liability that California law doesn't allow a business to limit.

If we disagree

If you have a problem with our work or a bill, call us first, because most issues get settled with a site visit and a straight conversation. If that doesn't settle it, we'll both try in good faith to work it out, and either of us can suggest mediation before going further.

If it still isn't resolved, any claim will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Fresno County, California, unless your signed contract names another way to resolve disputes.

Governing law

These terms, this website and any job we do are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We can update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the one in effect. Changes won't apply to a job you've already signed a contract for unless we both agree to them in writing.
